WHO ARE BEARWOOD?
Bearwood formed in the Spring of 2012 and consist of –

Steve Jackson – guitar,vocals
Colin Bailey – bouzouki, vocals
Bearwood perform a mixture of self-penned, traditional and contemporary songs, and love playing at festivals and in the intimate settings of folk and acoustic music clubs in the Home Counties. They name amongst their influences Bob Fox, Vin Garbutt, Cara Dillon, Eddi Reader, James Taylor, Al Stewart, The McCalmans, The Corries, North Sea Gas, Chad and Jeremy, The Turtles, The Seekers, Peter, Paul and Mary – and Steely Dan! HISTORY
The provenance of this group dates back to the early 70s when Colin and Steve, as two-thirds of the trio, Cope Preferred Outline (CPO), played comedy-folk to unwitting audiences in the West London area. They then embarked upon electric music in a variety of pub-rock and function bands. Reforming CPO in 2009 but subsequently losing their third member, CJ, to the world of musical theatre and modern jazz, the lads regrouped as a duo. Mandy joined them in the Spring of 2012 and Bearwood were born.
OTHER VENTURES
When not performing in Bearwood Colin may be found scribbling about folk music for RnR (Rock ‘n’ Reel) magazine or his own blog The Bailey Beat, Steve slapping the electric bass for a jazz/world music ensemble and Mandy singing a cappella in the community Sing With Mandy .
